Phase 2: Connecting the printing units.
The individual units are now fine-adjusted and connected
to one another. Our Systemservice technicians make sure the
backlash and panel gaps are exactly as they were meant to be. Just
like all our printing presses, the Speedmaster XL 105 was
completely assembled and tested in our Wiesloch factory before
being delivered - which makes its final installation now much
easier.
Did you know?
We have so much trust in the quality of our equipment,
that we include a 36-month-service package with the purchase of
almost all new presses. Called Systemservice36plus, this package

Phase 3: Connecting the main drive.
The Systemservice team now starts installing and wiring
the main drive into the press. Thanks to Sheetfed control - the new
generation of Heidelberg press control - our Systemservice
specialists are able to connect this sophisticated piece of
machinery within less than 24 hours. It is also at this stage that
our technicians start building the catwalk on the operator side and
install the automatic ink feed system InkLine.

Phase 4: Installing peripheral cabinets and panels.
While part of our Systemservice team is busy working on
the Star System on the backside, the other part is now installing
the catwalk complete with panels and security barrier at the front.
With raised machines such as this one, panels do not only play an
aesthetic role: they also contribute to the safety of the working
environment.

Heidelberg also offers Hardware-Upgrades, which enable
you to boost the capacities of your Heidelberg production system
without having to buy a new one. Hardware upgrades - such as the
new sheet brakes, sheet separation blowers, or closed sheet guide
plates - enable you to enhance the functionality of your equipment
by adding a feature or improving an existing one..

Phase 5: Commissioning and first paper run.
Our machine is now ready for technical commissioning and
for the first paper run. In parallel, our technicians mount the
blankets and the guards. Now the first paper is run through the
press. This successfully concludes ten days of non-stop
installation work under optimal conditions.
