Speedmaster XL 105 - User Report: Colordruck Baiersbronn W. Mack GmbH & Co. KG
In Baiersbronn in the Black Forest, another company has chosen the
Speedmaster XL 105. Colordruck produces high-quality folding boxes
for the pharmaceutical, food, sweets, toy, textiles and chemical
industry. The average print volumes range between 7,000 and 10,000
sheets per hour with a strongly increasing share of demanding
inline varnishing jobs of the most diverse kinds.
When the Speedmaster XL 105-6+L was installed, Colordruck decided to gradually leave the traditional 3b format and switch to the larger sheet format 75 x 105 centimeter completely. Manager Herbert Klumpp clearly points to the advantages of the press: the "very, very stable inking unit", the feeder with its integrated non-stop system which "takes everything", and especially a "clear performance plus" when processing short-grain cardboard of up to 700 gramm per squaremeter. The comments of the Assistant Manager of the Printshop, Dietmar Braun, are similar. He commends the ink stability, for example during the quick start-up of the press, and the dryer concept DryStar 3000 which produces excellent drying results, even at a speed of 18,000 sheets per hour. The coating unit of the Speedmaster XL 105 makes him go into raptures: "It couldn't be any better", says Dietmar Braun.
Be it the new the coating-blanket clamping system, the single-side pressure-setting possibilities, or the comfortable way of changing the screen rollers with the screen-roller magazine Multi Loader System - the increased level of automation gives the printer more time to deal with the important things: keeping the print quality at a top level and meeting the ever tighter time limits set by the customers. The Colordruck team is so happy with their increased productivity, thanks to the Speedmaster XL 105, that another Speedmaster XL 105-4+L is to be installed in October. And at the turn of the year, a third Speedmaster XL 105 with 6 colors and a coating unit shall follow. Then, Colordruck will have fully switched to the new format category.
