In 2010, Cologne-based commercial print shop Pacem Druck
invested in a Speedmaster SM 52-5-P+L with coating unit and short
high-pile delivery. This investment helped massively reduce the
print shop's production and makeready times.

on meeting the changing market requirements", says Managing
Director Christian Reichmann. "It is very important to us that we
can deliver maximum quality as quickly as possible - and the
decision to invest in a coating unit enabled us to improve the
quality and massively reduce production times."
Pacem Druck is a conventional commercial print shop with a regional customer base. It offers a wide-ranging product portfolio - from business cards to books. "What the customer wants, the customer gets," says Reichmann. "This is no problem at all thanks to the flexibility of the Speedmaster SM 52. There's no better press in this format range." The print shop aims to set itself apart from its rivals, above all by offering its customers advice from the original idea right through to the finished product. It goes without saying that short delivery times and adherence to deadlines are part of the service.
The company's workforce of 12 employees produces around 1,200 jobs a year for some 250 customers. Job sizes vary from short runs up to several hundreds of thousand prints. In addition to the SM52-5-P+L with perfecting device and coating system, the pressroom's machine park also includes a Printmaster GTO 52-1 and an MO-E. The print shop also features prepress equipment from Heidelberg as well as a Polar cutter, a folding machine, and a gathering machine in postpress.

Our makeready times have also been halved since Prinect Prepress Interface enabled us to adopt color presettings from prepress. The AxisControl color measuring system has significantly improved the stability of our production quality.
