At this year's interpack from 12 to 18 May 2011 in Dusseldorf,
Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) will be exhibiting as a
technology partner in Hall 7a, booth 7AB11/C30 in the
Innovationparc Packaging health/wellbeing segment. On show in the
'Dr. Happy' health shop will be innovative products and packaging,
created as joint projects with partners from the various stages of
the health product value chain. Heidelberg is involved as a
technology partner in a number of joint projects and is
demonstrating eco-friendly finishing with cold foil to effectively
enhance design packaging for these products. Other partners in the
project include Bialas Runge Partner brand design, Vermeulen Brand
Design, Brigl & Bergmeister, Michael Huber München, Silfox
Packaging and Global Color Research.
High-impact "green" finishing
Product examples include 'Brainbalance', which comprises
four drinks designed to support consumers in the phases of sleep,
rest, balance and happiness. Care was taken in the packaging design
to ensure an attractive presentation with a clear view of the
products. The two-component package design makes it possible to
remove the tray from the outer packaging and place it upright for
easy removal of the drinks. It is also possible to place the entire
resealable package upright. The packaging is attractively finished
with high-quality cold foil. Use of the latest Heidelberg cold foil
technology eliminates the need for full-surface metalizing of a
carton to achieve an attractive, appealing appearance. The foil is
applied only to those areas where the metallic effect is required.
This lowers the use of valuable resources and is more
environmentally friendly. The bottle labels are also finished with
cold foil in a clear color concept.
The folding box and labels were created in cooperation with
Vermeulen Brand Design and Brigl & Bergmeister and produced
from prepress to postpress entirely on Heidelberg machines in the
Packaging Print Media Center in Wiesloch-Walldorf, Germany.
