At the Annual General Meeting of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG
(Heidelberg), which will commence today at 10 a.m. at the
Stadthalle Heidelberg, Bernhard Schreier, the Company's Chief
Executive Officer, will provide preliminary information on incoming
orders and sales for Heidelberg's first quarter (April 1 to
June 30, 2004). The Group's preliminary figures for incoming
orders in the first three months of fiscal year 2004/2005 are just
under 1.3 billion Euro (previous year: 783 million Euro), thanks to
the numerous contracts concluded at the drupa trade show. This
provides an excellent platform for sales in the coming quarters.
Preliminary sales in the first three months of fiscal year
2004/2005 are 710 million Euro (previous year: 741 million Euro).
Excluding sales from the Web Systems and Digital divisions, which
were divested during the current fiscal year, preliminary sales are
602 million Euro, slightly above the comparable figure for the
previous year (595 million Euro). The full financial
statements for the first quarter will be published on August 9.
Today, the Company's shareholders will vote on seven
items of the agenda. These will cover the following issues:
Because of the negative result, the Management Board and the
Supervisory Board propose at today's Annual General Meeting
that no dividend be paid for the year under review.
Jan Zilius, Member of the Executive Board of RWE AG, will
resign from the Supervisory Board of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG
with effect from the end of the Annual General Meeting.
The current Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Dr. Klaus
Sturany, will resign his post as Chairman once all the seats on the
Supervisory Board are occupied again. Sturany, CFO at RWE AG, will
remain a member of the Heidelberg Supervisory Board.
Following his forthcoming appointment by the courts to the
Supervisory Board of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, Dr. Mark
Wössner is to replace Klaus Sturany as Chairman of the
Supervisory Board.
The results of the voting at the Annual General Meeting will
be made available after the event.
