Center stage at the international Prinect User Days 2010 was
devoted to sharing ideas and knowledge, and participating in user
discussions on workflow integration in general and the Prinect
print shop workflow from Heidelberg in particular. Around 350
Prinect users from print shops and prepress businesses in seven
countries took part in the events at the Print Media Academy in
Heidelberg. As in previous years, the event was devised and hosted
by a small team of representatives of various Prinect users under
the motto "by users for users."
Sharing experience and ideas
Many of the workshops and discussions focused on web-to-print
and its various business models. Organizational and technical
challenges relating to the introduction of workflow solutions were
also on the agenda, as were the very latest trends in print shop
workflows. For instance, participants took part in a lively
discussion about the various possibilities of process integration,
the advantages of an integrated print shop, and how this
integration works in practice. They also debated how to achieve
optimum efficiency in color management. The program was rounded off
with a panel discussion entitled "Inking up faster."
"The Prinect User Days have now established themselves
as an international experience-sharing platform for Prinect users.
Participants especially appreciate the blend of information on top
trends in the industry, in-depth workshops, and the fact that the
event is devised by people who are users themselves," explains
Christopher Berti, Head of Product Management for Prinect and CtP
at Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG.
