The Print Media Academy (PMA) in Amsterdam, training center of
Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg), and its sales partner
Tetterode-Nederland bv, invite managers, supervisors and key
employees within the print media industry to a three-day hands-on
lean printing seminar held in the recently opened site in
Amsterdam. Focus of this workshop aims to uncover untapped print
production capacities and consequently to increase dwindling profit
margins.
Kevin Cooper and Dr. Malcom Keif, two experts from the
California Polytechnic State University, who are in close
collaboration with Heidelberg experts, will present the following
lean concepts and tools:
- How to transform a business by focusing on customer
benefits
- How to introduce lean concepts, which will change a
corporate culture
- How to competitively position a company
- How to assess a company's potential for implementing
lean production
- How to develop a lean strategy based on lean tools
Using a wide range of practical examples, the seminar
instructors will describe the successful implementation of
"Lean Printing" in various printing businesses.
Participants will learn how a philosophy of avoiding waste,
empowering employees and increasing productivity can make their
business much healthier. The emphasis is on synchronizing
workflows, raising the standard of service and adding more value
for customers.
The "Lean Printing" workshop will take place from
October 5 to 7, 2009, in the recently opened Print Media Academy in
Amsterdam, Netherlands, and will cost 1.750 Euro (tax not included)
per person. The course language will be English.

The network is growing continuously, and today comprises 19
PMA sites in 16 countries around the world. Print Media Academies
are based in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, China, India,
Egypt, Afghanistan, Malaysia, and Australia. In Europe, there are
PMA sites in Germany, the Czech Republic, Russia, Belgium, and now

information on the latest trends in the print media industry, which
allows to develop the training program in close cooperation with
each other, and to tailor the topics to the specific regional
requirements. In 2008, more than 21,000 participants took part in
almost 2,500 training courses staged by the PMA network. Additional
